2014 Chevrolet Silverado Gets Performance Treatment from Fastlane - Truck Trend

The virtual and cellulose pages of Truck Trend are often filled with us pining for manufacturers to build production versions of concept trucks they exhibit at various shows, tempting us with the potential of their trucks, while remaining non-committal on future production prospects. One model we'd love to see put in production is the Chevrolet Silverado Cheyenne concept, combining GM's 6.2-liter EcoTec 3 V-8 with the regular-cab, short-bed body. Certainly, all the parts exist in GM's parts bin, but the 6.2 remains reserved for Double and Crew Cab trucks, for now. If you're not willing to wait for your Bow-Tie hot-rod, Houston, Texas-based Fastlane Motorsports can give you the truck rod you've been pining for.

The company shared a few of these snapshots of a 2014 Silverado in development. First of all, to give the Silverado the appropriate street-smart attitude, the suspension was dropped 4 inches in the front and 6 in the rear with a DJM lowering kit, and low-profile 22-inch wheels and tires were installed. But this truck is more than just about show. Get a load of the healthy-sized turbo attached to the Gen-V small-block. As you can see from these photos, final plumbing for the turbo system is still in development, but you can bet when it's completed, the Silverado will be capable of some epic smoky burnouts, and some serious acceleration.

If you'd like to keep up on the goings-on at Fastlane, visit the shop's website at fastlaneturbo.com or its Facebook page at facebook.com/fastlanehouston.
